Relocation
When one parent plans to move away and intends to take the children with them, this creates a very urgent situation that typically requires a hearing. It is highly recommended to have counsel for these hearings as the Court is seeking specific information to make such a weighty decision. Should the children stay in Colorado with the parent who still lives here? Or will the parent who is moving have parenting time in the new state/city? How much time and what travel arrangement will be needed? These are just a few of the many considerations the Court has to make and the importance of having competent counsel cannot be overstated.
